Another day, another bold wader. This juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was quite content feeding on the excess of invertebrates along the shoreline around us.

As promised, few more photos of the confiding juvenile Baird's Sandpiper at Rutland Water. The love for American Waders here in the UK reached a new level with this bird.

Couldn’t really ask for better views, the juvenile Baird's Sandpiper showed very well yesterday in the afternoon light. Laying in goose droppings was worth it.

More photos to come, who needs a Needletail anyway...

When driving within 3 miles of a showy Glossy Ibis, it'd be rude not to pop in.
Lovely views of this individual at Rhuddlan, North Wales last week.

There's something about a male Black Redstart, top tier bird for sure.
This individual was on the Great Orme around the copper mine earlier this week.

Handy work trip to Norfolk meant jamming in on this juvenile Glaucous Gull at Cley Coastguards. Cracking brute of a bird.

Watching these Purple Sandpipers squabble amongst themselves during a high tide roost this afternoon. Such smart, little waders.

Not often you get such close views of a Red-necked Grebe, this individual at Rutland Water showed very well in breezy conditions earlier this week.

Trip down to Somerset with the returning drake Baikal Teal at Greylake being the highlight, on both visits today it just slept despite the constant presence of a Merlin.
Elsewhere this Glossy Ibis was unexpected with a flock of Cattle Egrets.

I'm just working through a photo backlog, looking for new images for our Birdquest website. Here's one that brightened my morning... a brilliant male Bar-bellied Pitta from #Vietnam. They don't come much brighter than this! #Birding #BirdPhotography

One of the iconic birds that inhabits the Danube Delta, Great White Pelicans.
Saw 100s of these large birds whilst exploring the delta on a boat back in the summer 🇷🇴
