I know we won’t starve. Peas, cucumbers, squash, pumpkin, tomatoes, peppers, corn, potatoes, spinach, lettuce, arugula, avocados, bananas, citrus, and pineapple. We’re good here.

Some saw fit to chastise me for using 1:1 H2O/peroxide c iodine or chlorhex on a dirty wound. Per vet, using 3% H2O2 on this to debride it. I then flush with plain water, Vetericyn, and topical gentamicin. Daily Enroflox inj.
She’s healing. I hope to keep her healthy enough to go be a real chicken.

Some saw fit to chastise me for using 1:1 H2O/peroxide c iodine or chlorhex on a dirty wound. Per vet, using 3% H2O2 on this to debride it. I then flush with plain water, Vetericyn, and topical gentamicin. Daily Enroflox inj.

She has a food ball in her neck daily. I’m giving her BSF larvae (high fat/protein, calcium). I give her a vitamin supplement.
Tonight, I removed sutures placed by the vet and replaced with purple dyed prolene, so I could visualize the wound and healing, as well as really wash it out well. (2/3)

She has a food ball in her neck daily. I’m giving her BSF larvae (high fat/protein, calcium). I give her a vitamin supplement.

Now I am invested in this chicken. I’m going to be really upset if she doesn’t make it.
I’m kind of worried.
While I am no longer able to see into her abd cavity (that’s a win!) and she has healed that wound quite a bit (only 3-4 cm deep now, was 10-12cm, win!) she has def lost weight. (1/3)

My solid gold chicken. She’s the first chicken I’ve taken to the vet, the third bird. Others were ducks, all attacked by dogs (NOT mine).
When asked what her name is, “name? She doesn’t have a name. I guess call her Lucky. First, because she’s alive and second, I brought her to the vet. (1/2)
