LOL! The NHS is absolutely a cult.

Look at what happens when you dare to criticise it. Here’s our leaders celebrating the anniversary. In an actual cathedral.

COVID-19: Boris Johnson and Prince William among those celebrating the NHS with ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral
The Duchess of Cambridge was due to attend the thanksgiving ceremony, but is having to self-isolate after coming into contact with someone who later tested positive for coronavirus.

I don’t disagree that it needs more managers, I disagree that a highly centralised organisation of that scale can deliver consistent outcomes.

It doesn’t matter though, nothing will change. We’ll continue to get worse outcomes than other European and (some) Western countries.

The German healthcare system is decentralised as is the Dutch and many others that deliver better outcomes.

Nevertheless, I will stop now. I know it’s a sacrilege to criticise the sainted NHS.

It’s not one organisation though is it?
November 27, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Apparently, it’s notoriously inefficient.

I was randomly looking at organisational size, it’s not a surprise that the outcomes of the NHS are so patchy. It’s too big.

Microsoft employs 228k. Apple employs 163k. BMW 159k. US military 1.3m.

NHS 1.5m.

It’s absurd.
November 27, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Given its scale, I’m not sure it can be. It’s just too big.
November 27, 2025 at 6:30 PM
It’s too big an organisation to manage, that’s it’s biggest problem.

And yet left-wing people keep using X…

He’s such a twat.

She hasn’t got a lot on.

You are right of course, but it’s deeply depressing.
November 7, 2025 at 9:57 AM
Sadly this is correct, I don’t know how the cycle is broken.

I think the Tories have an opportunity to be completely honest about what we need to do - they’re going to get hammered either way.

Unfortunately they show no signs of being honest, with their ongoing commitment to the Triple Lock.
November 7, 2025 at 8:04 AM
I’m so sick of the dishonesty that radiates from the entire political class of our country.
November 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
I hope Joe Biden wins.
November 5, 2025 at 3:52 PM
They’ve spent years saying it’s not a problem and are not doing anything about it, they really can do one.
November 4, 2025 at 9:27 AM
Given the Tories were hammered last time and Reform are running on ‘they’re all the same’ would suggest it’s going to be pretty disastrous.
October 30, 2025 at 7:32 AM
This is absolutely right.

I think the politically unengaged are going to be surprised and really angry.
October 30, 2025 at 7:05 AM
Well said.
October 28, 2025 at 11:52 PM
I’m sure the media will be all over it.

Shoulder to shoulder with the Russian apologists in Reform.

It was him that, very quickly & without understanding the implications, made it Government policy to leave the Single Market and the CU.

Up until that point it wasn’t even something that UKIP wanted. It instantly became the bare minimum for Brexit with all the economic prosperity that followed.
October 27, 2025 at 11:20 AM
It’s the next step towards ‘we have to pause elections until everything is safe’.
