You are absolutely correct. However, the United States does not view rape as so much to be punished. There is rampant #rapeculture . Courts around the country release rapist on probation. Because, of course, we would not want to ruin a young man’s potential based on one small mistake.

I am a Chicana. I can assure you that I quite vigorously oppose State oppression of my community, regardless of anything that may have preceded by centuries what you discuss. No family tyrant will stop me from opposing, i. e., fighting, the violence and terror perpetrated on my people by the State.

I think exactly the same thing. There has been enough time for them to try to scrub him from the files. They’re actually probably continuing to do that right now.
