I gave this talk on Monday to our brilliant residents.

On Wednesday, the US saw the first measles death in a decade.

There was no need for this.

TB is a disease of poverty, but 70/100 observational TB studies we read didn’t account for deprivation.

We have some ideas about poverty— an oft overlooked confounder in TB research.

The richest man in the world wants us to stop feeding the poorest in the world.

If we want to keep America great, we must keep funding biomedical research to ensure we don’t lose our awesome lead.

Remember— diseases don’t care about politics. Researching how to curb them should be similarly apolitical.
