Super interested and excited this morning to find that an antique bird 🐦 #book gifted to me a while back has the signature of a historical political figure (provincial Premier and Member of Parliament for my home county, born also in my hometown) written inside the cover from *1928*!! Pretty cool 😎

When I first joined Bluesky, there were so few people on it, it seemed like it would be yet another platform that would simply wither and die in a few months so I put zero effort into building my profile. Now that it has some pretty great momentum, I'm going to give it another go 🤠

I got to tag along today for some hawk research in my very own county (Northumberland Co, Ontario, Canada)... We caught this beautiful female Cooper's Hawk and I even got to band and release it ☺️

Hello all 😁
Some of you know me from Twitter already. I'm in the last stretch of my PhD studying seabird behaviour, after a number of years working on songbirds, owls, and shorebirds.

Also a dog mom, dabbler in poetry / art / music, and fan of growing my own food. Based in Ontario Canada!

Introducing one of my #chickens ☺️ she's beautiful and friendly but doesn't have a name. I kept chickens as a kid and always loved birds, so it's been very rewarding to keep chickens again as an adult and have a source of healthy eggs in my own backyard!
