I sing in Too Much Joy and Wonderlick and work in tech (Rhapsody/Google Play/Freeform/Zedge).

I tend to post about music, movies, and the death throes of democracy.

I remember that well!

It's a bit odd, though, how ~25% of the movie feels like it was storyboarded and obsessed over and should be taught in film schools, while the rest looks rushed and hacky.

That 25% though was worth whatever portion of my DirecTV bill goes to TCM.

And soooooooooo ahead of her time, artistically, and as a human being.

Easily Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" in Apocalypse Now.

(If Kubrick were allowed, it would be Wendy Carlos Williams's electronic version of the "Ode to Joy" section of Beethoven's 9th.)

I got it, too.

Heh. There's a ska version of "Clowns" on the reissue, which can currently be heard only on Tapedeck, a new digital music store/streaming service I've been working on as part of my day job.

LL was a mensch for doing this. The first time we heard his version we all said, "This sounds like a TMJ song."

Then hopefully you won't mind this brief commercial for the Sandinista-sized reissue that's coming out on Halloween:

(By "that riff," I mean "Seven Nation Army," not "Blitzkrieg Bop." Not that you could sing it to "Blitzkrieg Bop" if you tried, which I just now have, and failed miserably.)

At Oakland Ballers games, when a player named Tyler Lozano comes up to bat, everybody chants, "Go Ty-ler Lo-zan-O" to the melody of that riff.

And now I sing that randomly to myself at least twice a day.
