I'm pessimistic about the near term because 1) Democrats are not serious about accountability, which will inevitably allow a repeat coup attempt that'll likely succeed and 2) establishment Democrats want to return to a system of working across the isle in service to oligarchs over the people.

The whole system needs reform. Both sides have always been two sides of the same coin. I'm sure airlines and big box retailers stepped in to lobby Democrats to reopen government. In a functional democracy, only the people should make that petition.
