Absolutely. It's just very frustrating that the extent of his analysis on that front seemed to be "no / not enough lefties are talking about this" which is incomplete at best.

The article had lots of good advice, including this part about accepting rejection, but I feel it didn't really confront the many reasons why that good advice is consistently outsold by regressive advice. The problem isn't merely an absence of good advice.

*This* is the problem Ian Dunt's article should have been confronting.

The article is indeed good but "no one on the left is talking about X" is a sure-fire pile-on attractor. Because it's never true! His "be yourself and don't treat women like objects" advice is nothing new. But it's absolutely true that it's too often swamped by regressive advice both online and off.

This is not about “upsetting” people or abstract moralizing, this is about trans folks taking practical steps to protect themselves from hate brigades by blocking followers of Jesse Singal. Journalists who want to follow Singal can just accept the block and move on instead of mocking trans folks.

Correct to be skeptical of tech's greenwashing embrace of nuclear, but this went way beyond that with some really inconsistently-grounded, one-sided arguments. To then say that "addressing climate change reqs a variety of energy sources" while gesturing at "democratic solutions" seems irresponsible.
