Access might be why the US press ceased to investigate and be critical with power, and instead become their PR arm. The fear of losing access makes for smooth self-censorship. Maybe now they can investigate instead?

There is a MAGA contingent in the tech community, but I don’t think it’s more than a loud minority, at least checking HN as a sample. But what is true is that, like the larger US society, the pro-democracy camp in tech is deactivated and sitting on the sidelines, or just unaware.

Yah, ok, I guess that would make sense, but does not make it any better in my book.

I can understand the people disagreeing, as I imagine they actively want this destruction of the constitutional order, but being “unsure”??!?!? How can you be “unsure” when there are basically dismantling everything in front of your eyes, in the open, bragging about it, etc?
