You are correct. As an American I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't even know of its existence or the disastrous impact it has on the fairness of our elections until the wake-up call I got in 2016. Since then I have tried to educate myself (and my ESL students) about the lunacy of our politics.

Which is why the electoral college is obsolete. However even 2 million of the "but Gaza" vote abstaibers could have also given Harris the win. The non-voters en masses have a lot to answer for.

While I firmly believe that votes were manipulated, the truth is that 93 million assholes either didn't care at all or claimed their "principles" about "but Harris hates Gaza" prevented them from voting against the current monstrosity. Ignoring that doesn't stop it from being factually true.
