The books are really fantastic… not in a “they’re well written” kind of way, but in a “the vibes are so good you’ll forget it isn’t well written” kind of way 😂 I think they’re relatively close up until book/season four

That said I’m so glad they didn’t follow the books storyline otherwise we would have lost Lafayette much much sooner!!! 😬

The Fifth Season by N K Jemisin - honestly the beauty of her writing shook me to my core 🙌🏻

I think it’s become a bit of a trend for books to laaaaaag until the end. Until 75% of the way through quicksilver I wanted to DNF desperately and then the plot picked up. A couple of authors did it well and now lots of people are trying unsuccessfully to replicate it 😅

I’m so here for the addie larue slander - I thought it was sinfully boring but everyone else seems to love it 😩🤦🏻‍♀️

Honestly everyone in a YA book gets automatically aged up to their 20s in my mind - especially with YA getting more and more mature content. I love the genre but sometimes it feels icky….

I always talk myself into finishing by saying that I’ve invested too much time to quit now. Currently fighting my way through One Dark Window and hoping it gets better 😩
