Many of the worlds in KH3, while beautiful, felt far too short; there was very little earned emotional payoff by completing most of these worlds; Sora and the party felt disconnected from several worlds' characters. I rarely felt the stakes.
Also, let's be real; it needed more Final Fantasy.

I feel like KH3 suffers in its overall story and pacing.
It does a good job of filling in the blanks by catching the player up on the events of the side-games; though, a lot of its charm is lost by not quite hitting the same mark that the first two games did.
