Al's enthusiastic jump into war was genuinely entertaining. Almost funny to see him set up all this heartbreak. He turned himself around though! He learned the lesson! In 6 episodes there was only maybe a few minutes of good action so I'd have to say this was good, but my least fav so far.

Had to watch in English and the dub was pretty good. Fun music. The assault by the Zeon squad in episode 1 was probably the best fight so I'd have to give it low points in cool mech fights. This was our least messy treatment of "war.. bad?" in Gundam so far.

*spoiler* his good friends wind up unknowingly battling one another which results in the death of Bernie at the hands of Chris and her Gundam. Extremely tragic and depressing and not a Christmas movie at all! Dang it Twitter!

Al is our little kid protag and he flat out doesn't get war. Like he does not see past the cool mech fights at all. He takes actions that endanger millions of lives. He is determined to save the day but the problem eliminates itself and *spoiler in the next post*

What will I watch next? If it's a Gundam I'll post about it here but if it's literally anything else I probably won't. I didn't intend to post this much about Gundam but I enjoyed HIM'EL's live Gundam posts on twitter and wanted to do the same. It was fun! Thanks for reading if you did <3

Final grades: loved MGS and ZZ. Zeta was great but made me feel bad so I like it a little less. Still good though! Char's Counterattack the most fun for mech fights but not a satisfying cap to the whole journey. Forgot to mention it's boring in the middle, too.

But there were triumphs and strong ideals being expressed and won. There were some things to laugh with and at. There were some sick ass mech fights and astounding art. Even with the big episode count this was a fast-paced, exciting experience all the way through and I'm glad I made the push!

There were some quality issues that I either briefly or just didn't call out with these posts. There was some bad animation but who can say what conditions this was all made under. Some frustrating character conflicts that felt chaotic in nature. No idea what the show was going for with it's women.

So this is the end of my main quest when it comes to UC Gundam. Was it worth it? It was often cynical and tragic. A lot of the time people died horribly. For nothing or for lies or for loving bad people and becoming that themselves. It's hard to endure 150 episodes and a movie of that.

It would kind of be perfect if Char didn't just explaining his feeling about Lalah. He sees her as a mother? Ok? And Amuro's last words are like "Lalah as a mother?" And then boom! It's over! All these episodes and all this time and this is our final moment with Amuro and it's fucken weird and bad.

So after a very exciting movie that sees many characters die dramatically Amuro and Char's final, emotional moment serves to save the world. Amuro and dozens of mobile suits work together to prevent a destroyed Axis piece from hitting the planet. ALL dying in the process!

Char's overall goal is rid Earth of all people and all chance of people but causing global nuclear winter. The old theme of people being pulled by Earth's gravity. Earth's citizens are greedy and uncaring of the free hearts of spacenoids. That kinda thing. Amuro says killing billions is bad. Agree!

So... my goal was to watch Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, MGS ZZ, and finally: Char's Counterattack. It's been a journey! It's been emotional! I can't wait to watch this movie and tie it all together! Like ZZ I've heard some negatives about CCA but we must finish the story. Thanks for reading!

ZZ Gundam is really good y'all! I loved it! I think as much as MSG. Really fun and genuinely funny first half entertained while a gritty and often tragic second half engaged fully.
