Interesting that the NYT map of LA says that Venice allows "other" housing. My neighborhood here in Venice is almost exclusively SFH, with the occasional bungalow court thrown in. Oakwood has a similar dynamic. I figured there were height and density requirements that kept it that way.

Thank you for hosting this! It was incredibly informative and useful.

Thank you, Governor!!

Are you thinking of a different bill maybe? SB79 retains existing renter protections and strengthens them in some cases.

And a beautiful day in Culver City!

I've been in that hotel many times -- the go-to spot for traveling TikTok employees who want to stay walking distance to the office.

SB79 is a great opportunity to make progress. Not signing it would be another major self-inflicted wound!

A great way to stand up to the president would be signing SB79!

You could have a major impact on climate change by signing SB79! Let's get more people living next to transit; you have the power!

What are the benefits of agglomeration in the DC area? Aren't there latency benefits from having data centers scattered across the country? And isn't DC relatively expensive?

Hell yeah.

Woo! But doesn't the exemption of cities with population under 35k mean that most of those Caltrain stops are excluded?

We totally would've won if there were a "creepy as hell" division. Easy first place for "freaky", "haunting", or "deranged".

Given that Lyons quote, it sounds more like a "Start improving now" situation!

It's a day off at my current employer, Warner Music Group, and it was a day off at my former employer, ByteDance. Not sure about the rest of entertainment and tech, but 2/2 in my experience.

Thanks for posting about this Kenneth! I live in Venice and support this project. When it was first announced I lived just down the street and could see the parking lot from my house. I've been eagerly awaiting this project for years and it's sad to see it being fought like this.

I worked at Bear's Lair in 2009 and 2010, and spent a lot of time there as an undergrad. It was regularly packed and an absolute blast! Friday afternoon Beat The Clock was always wild. Very sad to see its demise.

At the recent Caltrans open house they told me dedicated bus lanes south of Venice Blvd are still 10 years out.

"Space Intro" leads into "Fly Like an Eagle" on the previous album, but "Jet Airliner" also has a lead-in instrumental as a separate prior track.

Steve Miller apparently envisioned these as single tracks, but got higher songwriter royalties by splitting them up!

Sure is a lot of parking for being on two rail lines!
