Making great writers starts with a single sentence. Grateful for the chance to present with @jordanpridemore.bsky.social at ICTE today on how small, intentional steps can transform reluctant writers into confident ones.

To this day, I remember some of my multiplication facts because of the songs we learned in class—Times Table Tunes!

We’d sit on the carpet, look at a times table on the projector and sing the songs. I still catch myself singing the lyrics when doing basic math problems.
We know that spicing up a learning activity by adding movement can enhance student memory—pairing the word “airplane” with pretending to be one, for example—but do we know by how much?

"We need to start seeing content-rich elementary curriculum combined with explicit instruction as an urgent civil rights issue." -Beyond the Science of Reading by Natalie Wexler.

To remain committed to education equity, we must prioritize both content and instruction.

Hey, #hoosiersky, esp. Muncie and Kokomo, your rep co-sponsors this bill. You think our state education chaos is bad enough, without the federal DOE, it will be 10X worse. Reach out to Rep. Spartz. Save the DOE.
Here it is. The bill to close the Department of Education
