Here are a few reflections from team members @tayaziz.bsky.social, @athlynck.bsky.social and Riannan on which principles resonate with them most, and how they serve as a lens through which to sense-check and reflect on our work.

I've given Bluesky a proper go but social media just doesn't feel good for me anymore. It's so isolating and random and useless. This year I will be focusing much more on joining real life community groups where I can (and understand I am hugely privileged to have this as an option)

I'd love to join more real life community groups this year, particularly ones focused around global majority groups in nature, hiking, gardening, swimming and similar.

Can anyone recommend groups like this in Bristol?

‘Get on my land’: the farmers who want strangers wandering their fields
A growing number of landholders are joining forces with right-to-roam campaigners to boost public access to the countryside When Debra and Tom Willoughby first arrived at their tenant farm in Nottinghamshire, they tried to reroute a bridleway that runs…

I remain deeply concerned about the ongoing detention of Imran Khan.

His disgraceful treatment is an affront to the democratic rights of the people of Pakistan.

We must continue to speak up for the release of all political prisoners everywhere.

Now that the cold and dark has rolled in, I've been really enjoying experimenting with all the dye flowers I grew this year 🏵 here are some prints on coreopsis and marigold dyed paper 🥭

Nothing says 'I love you' more than your mom handing over a plate of sliced fruit or a cup of chai 🍵

If you discover a hibernating bumblebee while digging in your garden or allotment this winter, try to avoid disturbing her, and loosely re-cover her so she can hit the snooze button until spring. More advice from @bumblebeetrust.bsky.social at www.bumblebeeconservation.org

The planning system desperately needs reform.

While £100m for councils & 300 new planning officers is welcome, top-down targets alone won't deliver 1.5m homes.

We’ve been working hard to expose the influence of dark money and corruption on our democracy.

But it’s one thing to expose it. It’s time people were held to criminal account. Hodge and Labour have the power to turn the screw.

Labour peer says she will combat ‘corruption and the illicit finance that flows from it, both at home and abroad’

It's amazing how you can learn to communicate with a loved one when they can't speak anymore, I understand every little eye movement and hand gesture and the specific way she twitches her eyebrows to ask: what day is it? How's everyone at home? What did you do today?

My mum's illness recently has given me an appreciation of life that is so deep, I know it's cliche but have you ever thought about how you can sit yourself up in bed, go downstairs, make yourself breakfast and do things like put your shoes on? Never taking that for granted again ‼️

My mum was due to be taken off her ventilator today and we were told to prepare for the worst as she might not make it through.

But she is a FIGHTER and she's awake and breathing on her own for the first time in weeks 🥹🥹🤍

My mum has been ill after a stroke last month, and we've been told we only have a few more days with her. I feel lucky that we get to say goodbye because I know not everyone has that, but it's still so hard and painful.

I'm especially thinking of all the children in Gaza who have lost their mums 💔
