I have to disagree, here. Even if everything is working correctly, libraries are ideally placed to be able to provide additional services and equipment. In most places in the US, they're easily accessible, reasonably funded, and staffed by people who care. Ideally, libraries provide more than books.

I may or may not have taken a 4-hour (roundtrip) weeknight road trip to be there and it was utterly worth it
