Dehumanizing immigrants has deadly consequences, and not only for immigrants. What’s happening is not about law and order, it’s about terrorizing anyone who those in power deem less than. And that description, as it’s been proven, goes beyond undocumented people.

The trilogy that Pablo Larraín closes with #Maria is a genuine display of artistic consistency and ambition. They aren’t predictable, adulating biopics but dark fables that try to reach the real women trapped within their towering idols. They’re also compelling audiovisual experiences. 🇨🇱 🎞️ 🌍

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.
