It's so unbelievably tone-deaf, even more so in The Finals. Both games talk about (or pit you against) a tech elite completely disconnected from reality ~ you would expect Embark to follow up on that....?

The finals (such as ARC) is a great game with real passion and artistry involved. Sad that such little (bad) implementations can sour so much of the overall experience and discourse around it

They did use generative AI imagery on The Finals marketing (see the old in-universe Ozpuse site), and Embark's CEO is open about his enthusiasm. While that won't make me come out and say that gen AI is used for The Finals stickers, you can't really say my concerns would be unprecedented :(

It does suck that we can't trust anyone anymore, and I would be happy to be proven wrong (since I can't prove anything either). But things look weird since The Finals, and as a consumer I expect at least some more transparency

The communication regarding all of this is very shady. AI TTS voices are DEFINITELY used beyond ping system (hear the map intro for spaceport, for example. Around 3:55).
my guess is that there's a lot of stuff they're omiting, and I say that as a big fan of their games

Yeah, you don't see people complaining about Tomodachi Life's TTS. It's good cause it's shit and quirky, robotic in every way. Embark's implementation of it just looks shady, and so out of place in the universe they created
