So I watched #THEGORGE last night, then slept on it. The love story is great and it saves the movie. Sadly, the mystery and horror of "the gorge" turn out to be cliched, hackneyed, and derivative.

I love these books and greedily gobbled them up. $2.99 is a steal and you should jump on it if you haven't already. Space-oriented alt history that is female forward and thoroughly brilliant. And, like, it won The Hugo, so....

Loving ORBITAL by Samantha Harvey. It's taken my brain a moment to transition from the high-concept plotty stuff I've been reading lately into this meditative exploration of Earth and the human condition. It's poetic, beautiful, detailed, and a fantastic read before bed. tinyurl.com/42ca876k
Okay. I love #TheExpanse. I thought it was the best space-based #scifi TV since Battlestar. Read all the books twice. Own the comics. My car is named Rocinante. I'm all in. So, I saw Thomas Jane (love him) wearing a space suit in the preview image of this movie on Hulu called WARNING.

Beginning first-contact fiction research for my new novel project, I came across LAGOON (Embarrassingly late. I'm mortified.) by the incomparable @nnedi.bsky.social, and it is transformative. A stunning work of African Futurism. A read-it-in-a-day masterpiece of vision, depth, and possibility.
