Not really sure I agree that having video games references technically makes it anymore terminally online than other pop culture references though? I'm quite a far, far larger % of players of any of the games referenced are unaware of what groypers are than are aware of what they are.

Maybe because there is at least a certain part of the billionaire class that not only do they recover, but they expand by buying depressed assets during the crisis. Crashes can be extremely good for them.

I don't think this stops at recession territory. The damage done already is deep and not readily reversible, and they show no signs of slowing down doing more damage.
