Enjoyed an afternoon supporting my husband in what has become the annual marker of the beginning of the festive season in our house - the garden centre Christmas concert.

Not pictured: the three mince pies I ate.

Press night ✅

An utterly sublime evening at the OT as we officially open Twelfth Night!

Last night’s theatre jaunt to see friends in Hairspray at the historic Kenton Theatre in Henley.

Added bonus of a totally sold out show - and what a vibe. Nothing quite like being amongst hundreds of family and friends on a final show. So much fun!

Final rehearsal room run for Twelfth Night at the OT complete, and what a beautiful, hilarious, and utterly melodious production it is. Can’t wait for audiences to see it! Previews start this Sat! 🍊

Husband in bed with tea and biscuits, and peace will not be had until the very last crumbs have vanished.

Down in Basingstoke tonight to support some dear friends in a night of musical theatre. Wonderful selection of numbers accompanied by an exceptional 18-strong band!

So beautiful, and increasingly rare, to hear these numbers so *fully* performed 🎹🎶

Obvs am very biased, but having finally caught @karimcrackered.bsky.social’s GUARDS AT THE TAJ at @orangetreetheatre.bsky.social, cannot recommend it highly enough. A touching, funny, and dark exploration of friendship, loyalty, and honour.

3 more shows! 👇

💚🩷 Having caught Wicked (again) in London this week, this is an ensemble appreciation post!! So much attention to detail to physicality, to harmony, to *character*.

I’m always wary of how well a chorus translates (or not) in film form (*cough* Sweeney Todd *cough*) but have faith in John M Chu! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I wish it was! The original theatrical posters for that era (Oliver / SoM / Chitty / MFL) are all beautiful!

It bugs me so much. Especially since it has so many iconic visuals and they aren’t included on that original poster. Thank you for attending this ted talk ✌🏻☂️

Gang I know this is *so* niche but something that’s always bugged me is why the title treatment on the original Mary Poppins theatrical poster is so totally different from everything else to do with the film.

Why the yellow dots?? Are they meant to be showbiz lights!? It’s so out of place?!

Saw Giant on Saturday and am still very much still thinking about it. Bold, visceral, and about as contemporary and relevant as a play can be. John Lithgow absolutely sublime amidst an equally brilliant cast.

Huge respect to Hytner and the whole Royal Court team. One of the best of the year.

👋 Hello world!

Ex-X, mostly here to post about theatre (personally and professionally), may also veer into aesthetic photos of the dog, thoughts on the state of arts marketing, or after a glass of wine, quotes from Mary Poppins.
