Follow up: If you say "they should infer it from context" why SHOULDN'T YOU infer, from context, how your words will land with them, and adjust accordingly?

Example: "Everyone can do X" becomes "most people can do X"

The only way to deal with this is to first acknowledge reality. Your posts deny it. That's a big problem. Please work on that.

Also, Norm, your reliance on them not acting is part of the mental rewrite of history. The severity of their actions has varied over time. Letting them persist in their vitriol and hatred, acting or not, is what fosters bolder and bolder actions by them. It is part of the problem.

And yes, I know they predate my birth, the birth of my great grandparents...etc.

They've been all over MN since I was born in 1971. I'm not focusing on any one of them. I'm saying "open your eyes, they've always been here."

Let me be more blunt: Look back at history Norm. It isn't the rosy stuff you're imaging. The difference is it was non-whites and/or non-christians that were being assassinated, often with government approval (primarily tacit, sometimes direct, and occasionally conducted by the government).

I saw it shortly after it came out. At the end, the friend who rented the DVD proclaimed "And now I've seen an art film." He wasn't joking. 😆

Clearly their management played ball.

It allows it to fester and breeds more of this behavior because those in a position to spot it, very early, and intervene, won't see it. They won't see it, because they've suppressed their own memories, for an immediate comfort. They've always been with us. Admit it, then deal with it.

But Norm, it actually is. Those sorts have been here in MN as long as our ancestors have been. And this is the same country. Too many folks force themselves to remember only the good times. That's willful rewriting of the past why this stuff festers and comes to a head.
