I’m gonna take a break from writing my first draft novel for a little bit. Last night I came up with a new story idea that just grew and manifested. It’s another medieval setting but with anthropomorphic animals. Think Redwall and Disney’s Robin Hood. This is more of a YA focused story #Booksky

Having one of those days where I feel like I’m so ugly and that no one will ever find me attractive or want to get to know me better. Sometimes I just do this and look at myself in the mirror

Posting this photo again cause this is what I dressed as this year. It helps that I have an actual bow. Happy Halloween 🏹 🎃

The other kingdom is inspired by 13th century Kievan Rus. The difference comes from the armor, weapons, and clothing and the two kingdoms both share a Finnish inspired heritage. I’ve done a lot of research and been having fun looking stuff up. #medievalsky #Booksky

Another big fun fact. My story features two kingdoms located on the same island (similar to medieval England and Scotland) they are both related to the people who settled on the island centuries ago. One group is inspired by medieval 14th century England and 14th century Scandinavia while-

Just started watching The Rise of The Shield Hero and I’m so far liking it. It’s kinda similar to a story idea that I’d like to write someday. Plus the main hero wears green and that’s my favorite color so that’s a point in the series favor.

Have to watch my parents house for the weekend along with the dogs. I decided to have them out in the house cause they are well trained, well tempered and sweet, and I know they’ll be doing this all weekend so I don’t have to worry too much. Now I just got to find the damn cat. He likes to roam

I have inspirations for my story and writing but I’m mainly influenced by George RR Martin and Bernard Cornwell. Love how GRRM build a realistic yet fantastical world and LOVE Cornwell’s historical fiction books especially his medieval stories. I also love how he describes armor and battles #booksky

Did some research today. I was trying to decide on what type of armor my main character (who’s a hunter/drifter) wears in my story. I wanted him to wear something over his green gambeson and I wanted something historical looking. I found this pic of Rawhide armor and love it. #booksky

Dude I been playing Hollywood Animal and I can’t get enough. It’s a management game where you run a movie studio in the late 1920s and go through the decades making movies. It’s such a good game and goes through the good and the ugly side of Hollywood at that time. I recommend picking it up!

Man I’m happy for E33’s found huge success (just bought it on ps5 and will try it later) but it makes me sad that I think it’s gonna win Goty while mine is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I just think people are more in love with E33 right now Which is fine but ya know makes me sad a little. #gamesky

Was writing and got to a scene where two characters had a fight. I drew from real historical sword stances and realized my main character used the “Ox Guard” stance all along. All this time I was giving him a real stance and I didn’t even know if it was real and it was! #medievalsky #booksky

Now that I actually got a real bow, I can finally wear my home made Robin Hood costume. I love how it turned out.

Just found out that William ‘Bill’ Roberts has died. He is best known by me for his role as Vesemir in the Witcher games. I’m truly sadden cause his job as Vesemir was so great. He wonderfully portrayed the old and wise Witcher and brought depth to him. Rest in peace uncle Vesemir ⚔️🐺❤️

Been playing Hellish Quart on steam deck and man it’s a fun fighting game. It’s a 3d sword fighting game that focuses on historical fencing set in 1600s Poland. I’m more of a medieval ages expert but the setting is awesome and the music is great. Think Witcher 3. Give it a try. It’s 8.99 til the 14

Man I love how NPCs in Witcher 3 talk about how horrible velen is that it’s all swampy marshes, war torn and creepy forests meanwhile I’m relaxed cause I’m like “Ah reminds me of where I grew up and lived” 🤣 I doubt that was the intention in designing the game that someone would find velen nostalgic

Man i wanna go and read Robin Hood’s Dawn by J C Plummer and Olivia Longueville but im trying to finish up the first book in Bernard Cornwell’s Grail Quest series. It is good though and I’m only 70 pages from finishing it but I really want to start Robin Hood. From what I’ve heard it’s good #booksky

I did a rough sketch of what the kingdom in my novel would look like. I like it. I took inspiration from maps of other countries and I like the shape I came up with. I can do a lot with this. Will touch up some areas later. #booksky
