The typical American voter isn't a struggling renter making minimum wage. It's a middle-aged woman who:

owns her home
likes her healthcare
likes her kid's school
hates crime and local growth

It's not just donors and lobbyists stopping change. Most voters are just ok with their own day-to-day.

Why do we only say "rest in peace" to dead people? You know who'd enjoy a nice peaceful rest? Me, an alive person

Babe, let's go to a ski resort this weekend and not ski. Just drink hot chocolate, walk around, and think about how free our shins feel.

The drone thing has smelled like nothing to me the whole time. Iran isn’t trying to hide its drones by covering them in very bright lights. If Aliens wanted to be this obvious, they’d just make TikToks.

I could be wrong, but I think people just get really freaked out by stuff in the sky.

Re: Dem relatability. The last two-term Democratic president was nicknamed the deporter-in-chief. The previous one left the Democratic Primary campaign trail to do this:

Bernie Sanders correctly models relatability, authenticity, and anti-establishment vibes. But his policies aren't going to win durable majorities.

Voters love cheap Chinese-made crap, suburbs, fried chicken, gas-powered trucks. Dems need to start by not seeming against basic American touchpoints.

Money in politics was a moderating force forty years ago.

Today, money in politics looks like a 65 year old MSNBC addict in a million dollar home furious that Dems even imply immigration cost them the election.

Dems can’t meet voters where they are because their *donors* are super left-lib.

Conservative uncles watch George C. Scott's Patton and see a decorated tough guy emblematic of a long lost masculinity.

What they don’t know is Patton had an accented high-pitched alto of a voice. Most of his tough-guy schtick was compensating for sounding like Truman Capote.

If Dems are uncomfortable with leftist economics, it's not just because of donors. It's because even in blue states, most voters:

own their homes
like their schools
like their healthcare
hate taxes and crime
Oppose localized change

Jon and Hasan dance around this in their otherwise good talk.

Airplane is such an underrated movie.

Stewardess: there’s a problem in the cockpit
Doctor: what is it
Stewardess: it’s a small room in the front of the plane where the pilot sits but we don’t have time for that now

I love the Oxford comma. It’s practical. Necessary, even. Now if they called it the Poor Peasant Imbecile Comma, I’d probably feel differently about it. I’m shallow that way. I admit that.
