What is the best gift I could receive? My Sicilian grandmother’s recipes! I’ve been having lots of fun reconnecting with her through the process of translating her recipes. This is a precious gift that has transported me into her Brooklyn kitchen and into her loving arms!

Inspiration for this year's holiday table at Hammond-Harwood House in Annapolis comes from Henry Price, a free Black entrepreneur who opened a confectionary shop in the city in 1819! You can read all about him and his family in my book, Cooking Maryland's Way: Voices of a Diverse Cuisine.
