That's not weird at all, I genuinely consider Dark Souls an offshoot of core (non-puzzle) Zelda gameplay. The way it heavily focuses on z-targeting in its core combat is what does it for me. Not to mention the medieval/fantasy elements.

It had so much content too. Unleashed (the sequel) had a bigger roster but I didn't like the controls or the crystal breaking mechanic unfortunately
