A reminder to all my city slicker New Hampshire friends: Vote today! Local government matters!

We country bumpkin town-dwellers vote in March, a confusing legacy of New England's town meeting tradition.

When you get a boiler room robocall from someone who says, "I'm calling from Medicare health insurance," the best move is to hang up immediately.

The biggest - and most difficult - step in U.S. politics/governance is between IDENTIFYING a critical problem and creating a workable solution for the problem.

I wonder how things are going over at @nbcnews.com.

"The FBI announces arrests in big sports betting scandal! And don't forget to catch the @trailblazers.bsky.social game on NBC this weekend!"

Awkward...

Free sensitivity advice to campaign staffers: I understand why many campaigns are keeping the location of campaign events secret upon initial announcement, but that's a problem for those of us who have transportation issues, who don't drive after dark or don't drive at all.

Did @yamiche.bsky.social really call Trump a LAIR? That's what the MAGA outrage house, Politibrawl says!

I have to say the level of ill-informed hot takes - and flat-out bigotry - on @bsky.app is right up there with X. Do tend to have better cat photos here, though.

Interesting, but the House budget doesn't matter. The Senate writes the real budget.

The House has finalized its budget. Here’s what’s in it. newhampshirebulletin.com/2025/04/04/t...

Over 300 colleges & universities play Div. I basketball. More than 100 compete in the top tier of college football. All hope Cinderella's slipper fits, but most are simply shoveling good money after bad at a time when many campuses face serious budget and affordability issues. Fr. Malachi is right.
The president of Saint Francis University on leaving Division I sports: “big-brand programs are farm teams for the National Football League and the National Basketball Association, and small universities have become farm teams for the big-brand programs.” www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | The clock struck midnight at March Madness. We’re not coming back.
What’s a Big Dance without Cinderella? Other smaller schools should join us by leaving Division I.

Sure sign of springtime in New Hampshire...

That faint but unmistakable whiff of early morning skunk as I place the garbage and recycling at the end of the driveway.

Is the X outage related to the growing anti-Musk & all his projects crusade? Seems like folks vandalizing Tesla stores and those cyber-attacking X are, if not relatives, at least neighbors.

No way I waste my time Sunday evening watching the Chiefs and Eagles play football. I'm not boycotting the NFL or protesting commercialization. I simply don't want to spend four hours watching a game I don't care about.

I know the once-serious Boston Herald isn't a real newspaper anymore, but shouldn't they even try anymore? (Or maybe there's no limit to the bad PR Columbia University gets these days.)

Credit due to Topps (and the Pittsburgh Pirates) for gaining maximum publicity from the Paul Skenes 1/1 rookie patch card.

Unsolicited advice to that 11-year old & his family: Sell it and invest the proceeds. I doubt Skenes, a small market starter, long run popularity

As a long-time local radio guy - back when there was actually local radio - I typically worked on all the major holidays.

Maybe that's why I get annoyed when stations these days fill holidays with bland pre-recorded national programming.

I miss local radio. ☹️

I guess these won't be quite as valuable on the re-sale market as I hoped. (As a loyal NH Democrat, I've got a box full of that-didn't-quite-work-out campaign memorabilia.)
