It’s a civil case.

He probably hasn’t paid her.

Yes, of course.

In Ny, it isn’t just a checkbox. You also have to file a jury demand and pay a small fee.

It was an answer today's movie-laden Sunday NYT crossword puzzle. Neither here nor there, just FWIW and not for nuthin'.

Many times. And then the fire department comes. And if you’ve stayed at your desk, they give you a citation and fine you. It was a bonehead move. His excuse is lame.

What bullshit press narrative? Stress made him make a mistake of pulling a fire alarm? Come on. It's a crime / misdemeanor in DC. If anything's "pathetic" it's his ridiculous explanation. No, I don't think he should be expelled (he's my congressman), but he could certainly be fined.

Sorry, but if he mistook a fire alarm for a door opening mechanism he didn't know what he was doing. And, as a middle school principal, he certainly should have.

"I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door."

Please. This is as lame as it gets. Pretty sure he's been in plenty of schools and other public buildings with fire alarms & knows how they work.

(He's my congressman, so it gives me no pleasure to say that.)

Sounds like he's saying he mistakenly took the fire alarm for a door opening mechanism.

Kinda lame, really.

"Very simply, if you do a coup, you can fully expect to be tried in multiple jurisdictions. TRIED!"

As long as his ability to tweet, post, X, appear or call into TV/radio/cable, do interviews, hold rallies, press conferences, etc. or ever run for any office whatsoever is curtailed -- probably the equivalent of a death sentence in his eyes -- I'm good.

It is worth considering what form "jail" will take for him. I mean, unlikely he's going to Leavenworth or a Georgia state pen with his SS detail one cell over. Maybe they'll stick him in a MAL bathroom with an anklet bracelet, unable to move because the place is clogged with banker's boxes.
