3/3 Our results shift the paradigm: eyespot plasticity isn’t solely temperature-controlled but shaped by multiple environmental cues, including humidity & plant quality, that may be more reliable across regions.

2/3 In Mycalesis mineus, humidity directly affects eyespot size w/critical period in late larval & prepupal stages. But in Melanitis leda, it's indirect: humidity alters host plant quality, which in turn affects eyespots. These are 2 diverged species evolving under similar ecological pressures.

We have not done predation experiments as a part of this study; that’d be very interesting to do and build on the existing predation experiment studies
