We chose carefully 30 years ago to limit driving. Not everyone has that choice. Nor do we when in the country, where you really need a car.

We chose carefully 30 years ago to limit driving. Not everyone has that choice. Nor do we when in the country, where you really need a car.
My little suburban town has butcher, bakers, cafés/restaurants, pharmacy, doctors/lab/dentist, elementary school and railway/bus station within 5 minutes from home. I love shopping local. It's a 15 mins walk to the 2 different markets but it's good exercise. We need to encourage this, not decry it.
