Fascinating and thought provoking @davidhumeinst.bsky.social event on the Care Economy with @timjackson.org.uk this evening in Edinburgh ICC. Despite my best intentions to stop buying so many books, there was no way I could resist buying "The Care Economy" book and look forward to reading it.

Our new wee boy Fergus, a cross miniature daschund/toy poodle is fearless! His tiny size belies the fact he thinks he's a great dane! Now he's had all his jags, he'll be venturing out into the big wide world next week. #dogsofbluesky #puppy #daxiepoo #doxiepoo

Today would have been Mum's birthday - she'd have been 80. Happy heavenly birthday Mum x

It is my 1st Christmas without my Mum. I'm grateful for those I love still here, but grief at this time is difficult. But I know I'm not alone, so I'm sending out love to everyone else facing the same, whether it be a parent or grandparent, child, sibling, relative, friend or pet. Hugs to you all ❤️

Looking forward to today's event in Parliament in London to raise awareness of the financial challenges unpaid carers are facing. We're meeting other members of the Carer Poverty Coalition to meet MPs and highlight the urgent need for greater support for #unpaidcarers.

Everything we did before is just a memory & we'll never have new ones to share: and that reality is crushing. Times tho I forget momentarily and reach for the phone to share a funny story, or see a gift I know you'd love and nearly buy it til it hits me again, again & again.

Well, the plan to scatter Mum's ashes on Campsies today has been scuppered by ##StormBert 😔 Roads pretty much blocked out of where I live so the Crow Road up there not likely to be safe today... never mind actually going onto the hills themselves. She can stay with me for a bit longer ❤️
