So...love my family. Dislike extended family's abelism. Dislike being butt of joke for being hard of hearing---yelling in my face what you said or laughing when I misunderstand just makes me want to retreat and take out hearing aides and not even try.

I just sent what might be a jerimiad to my undergraduates calling out patterns of inequity in their group projects. This is a class on culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogy-don't be replicating systems of dominance with your peers. You know better. Also probably time for a break. #AcademicSky

Do I understand the frustration? Yes. Will I struggle not to sing even though it is annoying, I don’t have the vocal range, and I make up lyrics…also yes.
