Even as a Brit, this brings a tear to my eye (stiff upper lip and all :-))! Here's hoping that a certain newish party leader on our side of the pond with the same first initial can replicate some of this. Certainly merits the comparisons, IMHO.

We academics sometimes obsess over citations, but I am truly delighted to think that some of our work may be of direct benefit to Ukrainian refugees with disabilities, and those who come after them. Improving the situation of the populations I study, is the reason I began this work.4/4

Our work has already been the basis for three parliamentary questions and has gained support from Lords Alton and Banner, @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social , and the Scottish Parliamentary Group on Ukraine. 3/4

Last year, together with @robingoodwin.bsky.social and our wonderful RA Olena Orlova we conducted a qualitative study on The migratory and integration experiences of disabled Ukrainian refugees. We are now finishing a submission for a call for parliamentary evidence. 2/4
