So many of the people I grew up with, who were raised the same way I was, are MAGA. The spew gross racism, misogyny, and anti-Christian statements. It makes me wonder if I somehow entered the Twilight Zone.

I was taught internment camps and the Holocaust were blights of history. I was taught to love my neighbor and treat people as I wanted to be treated. I went to church and Sunday school and learned Jesus loves the little children, all of them. It was ingrained in me to be kind and charitable.

I mean I have called, I just know they don’t give a hoot.

As one of the people from “back home,” I absolutely will not get over it. I work with long term care patients in Kentucky, some of our patients will likely die, myself and co-workers will likely be out of work, and the healthcare system will fail.
