One of the hardest lessons I had to learn about ADHD is that it IS a disability. There are simply some things that I will never be able to do like a neurotypical. This was the key, however, to learning how to function. I’m now more organized than my neurotypical friends and I take pride in that.

I think the most surprising thing I discovered since I started studying political science is the optimism it gave me. I really expected to feel worse off about the state of things, but I truly believe that we still have control over the fate of the US. Our democracy is nothing if not resilient.

You cannot claim that everyone is equal until you eliminate the unique fear in half of the population that their lives could be completely ruined by a problem that is unique to them.

Discussion: what do you do when you feel like you’ve lost your motivation? How do you find that spark again? I want to collect advice and action plans that can be helpful for anyone feeling hopeless. #discussion #advice #mentalhealth

The sooner I accept that I’m always right about everything all the time, the better it will be for humanity. I’ll get on that right away.

One of my conservative friends told me that the difference in my beliefs and his was that he based his life on the assumption that humans are inherently bad(sinful) and I base mine on them being inherently good. I think about that all the time and I don’t disagree.

The notion that we inherently should not trust any politician is just as problematic as trusting all politicians blindly. We have to use discernment in order to work with the system.

Why is any guy on a dating app over the age of thirty so angry 😂 I find their profiles and all their bios are along the lines of “women suck, match with me, I won’t text you first 🤬” like calm down

My biggest issue with orange man is his rhetoric. You can say what you want about project 2025 and his involvement, but even if you take that away, he still paints diverse people as an enemy and that is not good for the health of democracy.

If you have the energy for it, I implore you to connect with your conservative loved ones. That is going to be the first step in bridging the divide(only if this is safe for you). Most of them didn’t get the same messages we did. Everyone is scared right now.

I hear some of the most absurd takes in my classes. Like wdym we should bring back bullying because you got called a slur in Xbox Live and it made you who you are today 😭 be so for real.

This is absolutely everything. It is a marketing problem all the way through. We can start with consistent and punchy messaging, as well as discussions on media literacy.
“progressive politics is making men angry” really isn’t the same as “right-wing media capture is telling those men to be angry.” it’s the second one. if we seize the levers of info power, a lot can change
