Oh girl, you are speaking my language! I am faithful to the OG hot comb when it comes to straightening my hair 🤝🏾 But, I also use either Chi or my Babyliss flat iron with a heat protector. Both are great brands for style tools, however I do prefer Babyliss (the blue).. How often do you apply heat?

If it is puffy after straightening it might be a moisture issue. I'd recommend a treatment: hot oil, a mask, etc. I went a long time with absolutely NO heat and that grew it out but now, I blow dry once a week to help with tangles/fly-away's. I feel you, my arm muscles are not at all from the gym!

Hair is a battle but what works for me: weekly wash + deep condition + hot oil treatments!
