been subject of speculation he’d go after charter renewal anyway but this takes heat off the organisation he’s fought for &, behind the scenes, had to endure abuse on its behalf. Yes it’s good £££ but also a tough job & in these “febrile times”, as Davie called them, good candidates likely put off

Extraordinary! Is first rule of Traitors like the first rule of Fight Club or could they not be trusted on spoilers? Or MAYBE that was the contractual (lack of) quid pro quo: do the show & you can get plug for your current project (just conjecture, have no evidence of this m’lud) but does seem odd
