I am almost there. But for family and the job I'd apply for a long stay in France, at least four years but by then probably for life. Better healthcare, good social services, a sane - if persnickity - population.

As long as you have some RAID redundancy and it offers the space you need plus ample room for growth, does it matter? Synology makes great budget NAS and routers but this is not an enterprise-level solution.
It's a cheap solution good for a small team if you or they also make backups.
