So with the new year starting, we're looking at our existing clients and making appropriate adjustments that is for the better for ourselves.

1 client's contract was terminated. We do wish them well.

1 client's is being re-written to better align with what we're doing for them....

The total cost to move 11 domains to @cloudflare.social was just under 2x the cost to renew 4 of them at @namecheap.com.

What prompted the move? Got the renewal notice today for those 4 domains.

Namecheap is a good company, but 2x the cost is still sizable given the number of domains we own.

We've been advocating for this for years and were told by members of various dev communities that we were insane and should get back to yelling at clouds.

Reminder: Excel from the 90's IS faster on older hardware than Today's Excel on TOP END hardware.

Opinion: Maybe the answer to soaring RAM prices is to use less of it

Starting the process to hire Interns/Entry Level on a 6 month basis. Still signing contracts and treating at 1099's.

Reason being, we give them 6 months to grow, learn, and ask questions. If they grow and show promise over that time, they sign our full IC contract and double their pay.

We know we’ve been quiet, been taking care of clients.

But we had an absolutely horrible idea.

Make a game, and have all assets be 100% AI generated.

The game name: AI Slop.

Alright folks, I know we don't post much (too much work to do sadly) but here we are.

We are starting the process to screen potential new candidates for work that we are expecting to get after the new year.

Right now, primarily Ruby/Rails and .Net development. #remote #uscitizens

We're trying to update our #DunAndBradstreet profile and.... for a company that is suppose to be the credit agency for business, they shouldn't be using the lowest bidder for their site.

Non-responsive, cumbersome, slow.

An interesting watch for those considering whether to do IAP or link out to your site.

Remember, the "Apple Tax" isn't a commission. Just like in retail establishments, it covers their costs to host and sell your product and considerably more in Apple/Google's case.

A client uses #GoogleAdSense to fund the site. We're concerned on the security front and have been trying to find a good CSP to protect the users.

Previous ad networks have said "Just don't. It'll prevent us from working."

Looked at what Google recommends for use with AdSense....

Playing some #FinalFantasyXIV while at it. Come relax and watch as we see how well it handles things.

The project we were hoping to announce a month ago... we're abandoning it. The parter we were working with, who originally commissioned us for it 3.5 years ago... has essentially ghosted us.

Lesson learned at the cost of $30k of dev time and resources.

Just read this post on #CSSTricks (great site BTW) on wanting to ditch the CSS PreProcessor today. Good read but it has one piece wrong regarding the `@import` statement in CSS for breaking up CSS files.

It's natively supported (at a base level) in all browsers.

There was once upon a time when native CSS lacked many essential features, leaving developers to come up with all sorts of ways to make CSS easier to write over the years.

While trying to set up DNS Auth for a client that uses @godaddy.com for public facing DNS.....

Move your DNS away from them. Seriously. In order to use the DNS API you need to either pay more for the privilege or buy more domains.

This is something their competitors do FOR FREE!

Working on a clients site and moving them from a third party ad platform that includes AdSense to purely AdSense.

The performance difference between the two is a MASSIVE.

Using Freestar? Cloudflare reports 13 seconds to fully loaded.
Using JUST AdSense? 2.1 seconds.

Just read up on some of the changes the EU is forcing upon Apple. I understand both sides and I can see Apple being a bit... mischievous here and start announcing new features for global use... except within the EU.

We have some news to share soon and can’t wait to! Just a few more weeks and we’ll be able to talk about it.

Got to love it when one of your providers makes a change to their site that prevents you from being able to login to bill clients... and the best way to contact them is to login to report it.

No phone support, only chat.

Thank you #Bill.Com for disabling login twice within the last YEAR.

Welp. It's done. We've officially withdrew my request to @microsoft.com regarding a #BattleTech License. 3.5 years and we couldn't get all the information we needed to make a case for it.

Apparently we're getting some feedback that requiring our graphics designers to also know how to turn their designs into static sites (HTML/CSS Only) is asking too much of them.

You're the designer, you're the BEST person to do that job, not us. We make it function, you make it beautiful.

We're currently getting caught up on our backlog of tasks and plan to get some streams in over the next few weeks.

That includes Christmas and New Year's as well for those that would like some company.
