Oh... any word from Luci?

Hah! Let's hope Miller goes out the same way--at the end of a r*pe.

So true, Zoey. And we know who's calling the shots: Stephen Miller. He's as antidemocratic as they come. He also bears an unnerving resemblance to Adolf Eichmann.

Little Rock 1957, Detroit 1967, I understand. But DC now? Where's the crisis? It's another Trumpian stunt to: 1) paint the Dems as soft on crime and 2) divert attention from the squalid Epstein business. He's flooding the zone right now to accomplish the latter.

Terrific, Zoey. I'm old. Never thought we'd have to fight fascism on these shores. Bigotry, ignorance, zealotry yes. Fascism no. Anyway, I'm headed to Twitter to give you a follow.

Yes, David, Austin's been Californicated as they say. And they've brought their peculiar form of rudeness with them. I singled out New Jersey because I got into fight with a guy with NJ plates who nearly flattened me as I legally crossed the street. I bashed his Audi with my hand, and it was on. 😂

Friend a mine--much nicer guy than my former landlord--has an empty house available for a song. Austin's always been expensive but now is out of control. It's also lost some (a lot) of its charm. Too many New Jersey-ites bringing Jersey here, not adopting the Austin ethos. Not like the 70s anymore.

Close, David. Deeper east: Commerce, even more, um, bucolic, though Sherman is fast becoming part of Dallas. It's the new McKinney. Anyway, Austin is going to be a little less weird. 😎🤟

Hey, Zoey, glad you remembered me. New profile picture: out with the pompadour, in with the Beav's friend, Larry Mondello. Your wry takes on music I like are sorely missed on Twitter, as is Luci's expertise. I know GenTXer feels that way. Yes, I'd like you to reconsider your decision to leave.🤞😎

Thank you, Anita. I'm taking a social media break, so I won't be posting anywhere for a while. I should be back in a few weeks.

Yes, FC, there's so much great music from the past that's now available for free or for a pittance relative to LPs or CDs in the old days. I feel a bit guilty neglecting the newer stuff, then I listen to a band like the Jam.

I grew up in Indiana--South Bend, site of Notre Dame. Larry Bird is a god. I very much liked Kobe; I've never been able to warm to LeBron though he's an awesome talent.

I find myself gravitating more to college football and basketball these days, FC. The NCAA basketball tournament is, hands down, my favorite sporting event. I harbor no illusions about money in college sports, but at least now, it's a bit more out in the open.

That's terrific--your love of baseball and knowledge of basketball. I didn't know that basketball was so popular in the UK, but when I think about it, it's probably our most exportable--and exported--sport. That said, I don't think the NBA will ever match the star power it had in the 80s and 90s.

Yes, FC, golf is an acquired taste. My dad was an avid player and fan, so I really didn't have a choice. I'm happy to say, while the NFL reigns supreme, Americans are becoming less provincial in their sporting tastes: soccer, rugby, and lacrosse, in particular, have made serious inroads.
