Tuesday 11-11-25, Veterans Day, was marked by a beautiful dawn that was bookended by a rare aurora here in northern New Mexico. It also was time to reflect on the career military father I barely got to know who was a combat veteran of both WWII and Korea and who definitely had PTSD.

We saw the 11-11-2025 as far south as New Mexico. Here's a pic taken in a dark sky area of the aurora framing 11,000 ft elevation San Antonio Mountain 20 miles south of the Colorado state line.

Secretary of the Interior Dan Burgum was in Santa Fe today to speak to a Western governors event hosted by NM Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Thousands of citizens came out to let him know that our public lands are NOT FOR SALE!

Taos, New Mexico is a small southern Rocky Mountain town of about 8,000, and Taos County is maybe 40,000. At least 2000+ people showed up for the No Kings protest on a beautiful mid June Saturday.
