It's not too recent because I've been into shiny hunting again lately. So it was the last full thing I wrote in a while.
It's for the Mythology accurate pages, and I just fell in love with the weirdness of the phrase.

"Ugh, yeah, that phrase; 'Eternity doesn't last forever, it just lasts as long as you live.' It's something Gods keep in the back of their minds to remind them while they can live for thousands of years... the soul inside could change at any given moment the second they die." Drilltooth explained. "Oh, so a reminder of their semi-morality?" Tycho asked, sounding a bit disappointed. "What did you think it meant?" Drilltooth questioned confused on how it could be interpreted any other way, Tycho shrugged, "I had no idea. Just figured it could be something sweet." "How?" "Well..." Tycho smirked. Drilltooth's eyes narrowed. "I swear to gods if you say something corny. I will come over there-" Eternity doesn't last forever. It just lasts as long as you live, Drilltooth." Tycho answered, with a knowing smirk, barely able to get a leg off the couch before the squirrel god was on top of him. "You need to take off those rose tinted glasses. They'll blind you at the worst moment one day." Drilltooth noted as he leaned in, Tycho smirked as he saw the god blush. "Is today that day?" He asked, Drilltooth didn't answer, instead leaning in and kissing the tanuki on the lips. He embraced the god, then... felt the gods tongue slip between his lips, to his surprise. His eyes went wide at the sensation, Drilltooth was now the one smirking as he pulled away. "I warned you." Drilltooth teased, "You didn't mention anything about tongue!" Tycho chuckled, the space between his eyes flushed slightly red, "What did you expect when you keep running that mouth like that? Someone had to make you shut up for a minute."

"I personally suspect it's because... when mortals need an image to follow they seek out perfection." Tycho suggested, as he slipped on the shirt. "And the half that are Nihilists are also perfect?" Drilltooth questioned, Tycho shook his head. "I suspect it's so the Gods feel more... Mortal in a sense." Tycho answered, with a shrug. "Something more realistic, something they can sympathize with. I mean... eternity to experience every single pleasure and pain possible-?" Tycho began to offer, before Drilltooth cut him off with a single; "HA! I wish! Divine law basically nips fun the bud! Having to trade prayers and coin for our fun and pleasure, despite it being Heaven and Hell!" Tycho quietly picked up the towel with the squirrel still sitting on it, letting him rant. "It makes no sense to me!" Drilltooth commented, Tycho's eyes drifted to the band on the squirrel's arm, marking Drilltooth in debt to Moon Rabbit Services. "I like to think... its for the stability of sanity." Tycho mused, as he opened the door to the laundry closet. Drilltooth's eyes narrowed, and he glowered; "Elaborate." "Well... saying thanks can mean only so much after a few years, yet when you're starved of it... that can also start to wear a person down. So by exchanging prayers and money. Then... its a quiet way of saying thanks, or having a window of opportunity to say thanks and have it hold meaning." Tycho elaborated, Drilltooth crossed his arms. "And what does that make me?" He asked, clearly referring to his teal armband. "Someone who's tail got caught in the window on the way out as you tried to dine and dash." Tycho teased, Drilltooth's nose scrunched up and the Squirrel glowered at Tycho, who chuckled opening the washing machine lid. "That being said." Tycho set the towel down on the dryer. "I appreciate everything you do for me, Thank you." Tycho put a hand to his chest and lowered his head to the squirrel. Drilltooth's tail flicked, trying to stay mad at the tanuki...

"Do you... actually have that Angus steak, or is that just for those who can't see what's actually on that chalkboard?" "We have it." The gator confirmed with a nod. "Want it?" "No... it just caught me off guard." Murabaa explained, the gator chuckled. "First day seeing demons and weird things?" "What-!? No! I've been Aware since-" the waiter chuckled again, "I'm teasing ya, I can sense that Demigod aura. Rarely get ones like you in here... especially ones so regal lookin', is your papi or mum anyone I know?" "Horus, Egyptian-" "Horus?! Really?! How's he been? I hadn't seen him in a good week!" Murabaa froze again, "wh-" He barely muttered. "You... served Horus??" The waiter nodded with an affirming hum, "Shook his hand, even. He usually orders the Big Bite, with one chicken patty instead of Hamburger meat. Says it almost could beat the Big bunny's work in taste, always asks why I don't-" the bell at the window chimed twice; "CALIXTO! HURRY ON! WE GOT THREE ORDERS FOR BOOTH SIX!" An older looking gator called out. "Maybe when things are slower- I'll start ya with some chips, and queso on the house." Calixto quietly whispered before hurrying to the service window. Murabaa was left completely baffled, looking around the diner once more... nothing changed it was the same eighties style diner it was before. Chessboard tiles, tin walls, wooden polished base counter... hardly anything elegant or royal looking. After a quick roundabout trip Calixto had returned, serving the bird and imp the chips he promised. "Sorry 'bout that, but- you know. Lunch rush." Scorpio immediately dived at the chips taking one in his claws and dipping it in the queso munching away happily. "Got a chance at that menu?" "Er... I'll just have what Horus gets, I suppose." Murabaa requested a bit flustered. "Sounds good! One Big Bite, with extra house sauce, one Chicken Patty, and fries on the side with a spicy ketchup dip. Do you want the Arnold palmer, too?" "The... what?"

The duo kept their pace through the bayou, Tycho following close behind Tamara. Some people would say it's old stomping grounds for the tanuki, but he only really known Spectre's Pass around the last Year or Two, before he entered the Demon Redemption Program for Four straight years. Even then he didn't really check out the forest, he went to visit the people; dropping off orders, picking up orders from the local shops, or even just literally to hang out with a few friends. "So, how's life as a bunny treating you?" Tamara asked as they walked, stepping over a massive root. "It's challenging-" "So it sucks?" Tamara cut him off before he could continue his thought. "No! Far from it. I love the job, its unique. It's taught me a lot of things about how to do more, and given me a lot of new skills." Tycho noted as he jumped over the root. "Define new skills." Tamara requested as knelt down to one of the trees. "Well- I can massage, groom fur, scales, hair, claws, I can clean more efficient and effectively, make more than diner coffee, a lot of new talents built on the back of old basics." Tycho explained, as he inspected to the nearby tree's bark. "Groom scales, mm? What advice can ya give me?" Tamara simply asked, as dug around carefully plucking out a Mushroom with its roots. "It's hard to recommend anything to you, your scales all ready shine a bright white." Tycho commented, as he went around the tree. "Careful now, some people may take that as flirtin'." Tamara teased the tanuki, Tycho nervously chuckled. "Right, sorry. But its true, your scales hardly seem like they need anything more then moisturizing-" Tamara turned her head to the the tanuki, "And I don't mean the humidity of the bayou air. I mean a bit of time with a humidifier or moisturizer." Tycho elaborated before she could say something sassy. "Any luck?" Tamara asked as she stood up. "I can't find moss or mushroom." Tycho shook his head, "Onto another tree then."

Tycho asked, Uki Uki pretended to perk up. "OH- yes I do! Can I borrow your phone?" Uki Uki held out her hand, Tycho hesitated, seeming to study the Mo'o's appearance thoroughly then nodded. "Paranoid, but smart." Uki Uki thought to herself as he reached into his kimono, taking out what appeared to be a small leather bound booklet. "Sure." He offered it to the lizard, she accepted, she looked it over then noticed the magnetic flap, it was easy to remove. She flipped it open and the phone screen lit up, showing a picture of a beautiful scene, a nature gods domain, an ascetically pleasing sight. She slid the phone symbol in the corner dialed one of her sisters numbers, they knew if one called the other it was part of the ruse. After a scripted exchange Uki Uki hung up; "They agreed to meet me at the bar here." Uki Uki noted, Tycho smiled and nodded. The lizard offered the tanuki his phone back, and he stuffed it away in the same place. "Since you're back there, can you make a Fortuna Aqua while we wait?" Tycho tipped his head confused, raising his brow. "It's a mixture of Papaya, Coconut water, Rum-" "OH-! It's a mixed drink! Ah- I'm sorry, I'm not a black rabbit. I'm not allowed to make drinks at galas like this." Tycho noted, holding up his paw, gently waving it in refusal. Uki Uki had to hold her face back from giving him a look of skepticism and calling him out on serving another Goddess a glass of wine. "May I see a menu of what you can do for me then?" Tycho nodded, "uh- hold on, for a second." Tycho turned to look around the bar... clearly unfamiliar with the bar. As he was distracted, she leaned back in her stool, making a tarot card appear in her hand. "Lets see if you're telling a bad lie." Uki Uki thought to herself as the card spun... eventually stopping and revealing; Sun. He was telling the truth, she looked up to the tanuki, still seeming to look around for menus. "A tanuki who doesn't know his liquor or a bar... strange."

"You know why." Stolas simply flicked the watch shut. "Ah..." Tycho's eyes went wide remembering what Stolas told him at the beginning of their conversation, making his mouth go slightly agape. "Allow me to remind you, I can't enforce my own laws myself. So you may speak freely, I am truly the only person in the world who must be neutral by law and whims of those above me." Stolas noted putting his hands behind his back. Tycho thought for a moment. "I think... its fun, because it'd be boring otherwise." Stolas hummed, turning his head to Tycho. "Well, you said it yourself; when you knew everything you gave up on doing anything for two hundred years... only broken when there was a shift in the universe. That the Web of Fate itself was destoryed. How much longer do you think you spend time on the floor?" Tycho asked, Stolas scoffed. "I was on a bed, I ate, tended to my garden... but didn't really feel anything. So... I suppose." Stolas mused for a moment. "To the end of my days as the me I was, and am." Stolas answered honestly. "I guess that's why. If you go to the same burger place fifteen times, and have the same order fifteen times with no changes and it tastes the same every time... then you get so used to the taste, it's just food at that point." Tycho elaborated, Stolas snorted covering his beak with his knuckle... his eyes becoming small pentagrams. "Are you comparing the concept of Fate itself to Fast Food?!" Stolas questioned, giggling a little bit. "Well, am I wrong?" Stolas bent over bursting out into another fit of laughter. "YOU ARENT!! AND ITS HILARIOUS!" The Demon Royal before him noted, cackling like a madman.

Stolas cut off the tanuki with a smile. "I'm here on a different sort of business. Let's talk over tea." Stolas gestured for them to follow them into the cabin as if he was inviting them into his own home. Drilltooth and Tycho shared a confused look, then shrugged at each other. "Oh and you don't have to break out the extra special tea. Just some honeyed black tea will be perfect for me." Stolas suddenly added, as he stood aside for the tanuki to open the door. He froze at the comment, then remembered who was giving the request. "That's starting to get a bit creepy." Tycho blurted out unintentionally, then quickly went to speak, but the owl shook his head. "My apologies, I'm just so used to seeing the future..." Stolas slightly bowed, then smiled brightly again. "Plus-" Stolas caught himself and chuckled. "Nah the anticipation just has me so giddy! I can barely contain myself!" Stolas cleared his throat, composing himself as Drilltooth went in passing another look to Tycho who shrugged. "Don't worry, I'll behave myself." Stolas noted as he followed the squirrel in. Once the group were set at the table and some small talk had gone on, finally the Tea began to whistle. Tycho took the kettle off the stove, pouring Stolas' cup first at the counter. "So... what was that pressing matter you wanted to discuss with..." Drilltooth paused as Tycho poured another cup, "Just two sugars for me." The squirrel requested, and Tycho carefully placed two lumps in the tea. Then prepared his own cup. "Both of us?" Drilltooth asked as Tycho set two lumps of sugar in the squirrel's cup. "Give Tycho a second." Stolas requested, Tycho looked over his shoulder to the owl. "I can work and listen." He noted, "Yes, you can. But if I tell you now you'll break a very lovely tea set, and I don't want that." Drilltooth perked up at that, "What-?! What could possibly say that'd elicit a reaction like that!?" Drilltooth questioned as Tycho brought the tea to the table.

It's inexplicable, but they are VERY expressive for animals. I even use them when talking with friends as my own personal reactions. Here's two more for example.

The struggle seemed to be more than either of them expected, Tycho visably grit his teeth at the squirrel. He had all ready worked up such an immense sweat blocking all the other strikes, now he had to deal with this! Meanwhile Drilltooth looked... like he was scowling, but also smiling as if more than anything else proud of the tanuki... or possibly just thrilled to have such an intense session where he actually had to try! That grin made Tycho grip his blade's handle tighter, then turn it into a shield! He hadn't forgotten what he was actually holding, but it felt like Drilltooth had as he pushed against the squirrel's now lost grip! However in that instance time moved slower again, and the squirrel instead of being knocked flat on his tail suddenly disappeared! For a moment Tycho could swear he turned translucent, and slightly blue... he looked around confused then realized he couldn't sense Drilltooth's presence, but by then it was too late, as the Squirrel's presence reappeared behind him. He managed to turn around but the Squirrel managed a solid head smash against the tanuki's own scalp, knocking him completely back and leaving his forehead with a wicked headache and having a bright trail of crimson red began to flow. Suddenly he felt a weight on his chest "Oh damn! Sorry! I was caught up in the moment! Are you all right?!" Drilltooth quickly asked as Tycho rubbed his pounding head. "I'm good... I think." He noted as he changed the shield back into a leaf and put it to his forehead, the warmth of healing magic gently consoling his head, closing the wound. "Seriously- I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me, I just hadn't felt so..." Drilltooth curled both his arms, "So... alive in such a long time! I mean my claws are still tingling from the impacts of your sword- and wouagh! I just feel like I could go another twenty rounds!" Drilltooth noted as his tail flicked releasing a tiny bolt of divine energy into the air as he continued to flex his arms.

"Try to strike me as if you were attempting to kill me. Otherwise... you may not land a scratch." Seren suggested, Tycho hummed taking a deep breath in and seeming to focus. "I can't promise anything, I don't exactly have that level of a fighters instinct." "Assassin. The word you're thinking of assassin, which I usually am." Seren noted, "Lady Elettra, care to count us down?" "I'd rather you both not fight, but... very well." Elettra huffed, seeming all too used to the cat's behavior. "Three... two... one." The wind gently blew between the trees. "Go!" She called out, Seren moved quickly, Tycho blocked his first strike... then the two traded blows for five seconds. Seren smirked at him as he stepped back. "Only one. I must be getting worse." Tycho looked at the cat confused, then felt a wet streak roll down his one of his legs. His ears perking up, he looked to the leg and there it was a slight cut. "When did you-?!" Seren held out his blade to the tanuki again, swirling it. "If your eyes could follow my movements enough to block nine of my strikes, then you saw each and every one of them! Don't play the fool!" Seren announced grinning ear to ear. "Dance with me, good sir! The way only swordsmen like us can." "I swear, I'm-" Seren cut him off jumping at him again, the movement of steel was rapid and quick, the needle like blades flying at rapid pace between the two sparks lighting up the night. Then as quickly as it started, it stopped. Seren and Tycho meeting in the middle, blades meeting each other... both giving each other a quick once over. Then they both back away, Seren hissed at Tycho. The black cat put a paw over his shoulder rubbing it, then looked at his lightly blood stained paw. "Damn it!" "What? I only got you once, you got me six times!" Tycho noted as he walked over to his satchel taking out a rolled up bundle of banana leaves. "Tch... humiliating." Seren commented as he spit on his blood stained paw. Then slapped the small cut, rubbing it.

Drilltooth questioned, "Slow down!" Tycho called Drilltooth slowed his pace to a crawl and felt Tycho's weight drop off as he began to take a running start behind the squirrel. "GO!" Tycho called. Drilltooth guided the branch, rushing ahead of Tycho he followed far behind running as quickly as he could... nothing compared to the squirrel, obviously, but that was the plan. When he emerged from the Pocket Dimension, Drilltooth had looped the branch to make a passing swipe at Stolas. Only for the chair's base to create a branch to not only defend Stolas but catch Drilltooth and prepare to sling the squirrel aside. Tycho rushed on the branch, jumping off it, creating a new iron sword with his leaves behind Stolas, prepared to take a swing at the Owl king! "Nice try, but there's nothing I can't predict, Tycho." Stolas noted as the chair's vines unfurled and whipped out at Tycho, who quickly changed form! He didn't think about what he'd turn into. He just did this time, turning into an elastic rubber ball! Stolas lifted his leg, dodging Tycho, then giving him a swift kick, however, in a split second. He saw Stolas' eyes go from dashes to wide orbs... he'd made a mistake. Tycho wasn't sure what mistake Stolas made, but had to capitalize on it. As he was flung through the air, Drilltooth suddenly appeared! Tycho, still a rubber ball, bounced off Drilltooth's forehead, knocking the squirrel's head back, and throwing off his balance, making him flip to the other side of the branch of Yggdrasil, barely catching himself. Then he saw it... he was flying just above Stolas, Tycho quickly changed shape again, turning into an extra chunky tanuki statue. Stolas quickly caught Tycho with both his hand, the Owl king's knees buckling a bit. When Tycho caught a glimpse of Drilltooth, who flung off the branch of Yggdrasil upside-down, he was low, but his claws barely extended just enough to reach the platform... barely scratching the space before Stolas' loafers. "DAMN IT!"

Spectre's Pass is a bayou town built on magic, designed by the Ancestors who still roam the town. Quite a magical place... if you can find it.

...Murabaa looked about the expansive bayou town the place was built almost entirely on the swamp itself, some used the trees for stability, some parts seemed to go up into the trees, with rather expansive sizes and shapes... he couldn't deny his own inner curiosity as it seemed like some of the planks weren't man made, but rather were growing out of the trees themselves into the shape of planks. He passed a glance to his escort, "So... is there magic at play with the construction of this town too?" "Of course. We use every lesson and tool we can get from the spirits, especially ones that allow us to use resources without- y'know thinning it out." "What do the trees provide other then wood?" Murabaa questioned with a slight snort, Cezelia passed him an annoyed glance at that response. "The mana within them gives our ancestors more stability to survive out here, if you must know Bird Brain." She shot back, "They can also be used to grow fungus, pollens, and other worthwhile materials for spellcasting. Of course, nothin' is given without something being taken... so the trees lose a few branches, lose a bit of mana, and require a sacrifice of our own mana occasionally. Think of it like a Tax to live there, without paying a dime." "That sounds like Tanuki magic!" Scorpio chimed in, Cezelia chuckled at the demons enthusiasm. "That's because it is! One of their ancestors taught us the trick, A disciple of Danzaburou-danuki himself... unfortunately the text that had his name was lost to time... and water damage. But recovery efforts are being made day by day to see if we can turn back the clock on specific objects." Cezleia explained, sounding completely enthralled by the sheer idea of the practice on paper, at least until Murabaa snorted. "Is something funny about passion in magic, your grumpiness?"

"Because you know what a real monster is like in this world." Drilltooth noted, Tycho blinked now focusing on the Gods words. "Don't look at me like that." Drilltooth chuckled, as he loomed over the tanuki. "You know what I mean, and I'm not good at this- all-knowing, divine-being, routine." Drilltooth dismissively brushed off the tanuki's expecting look. "Right." Tycho nodded, as he made the dome turn back into a leaf, immediately being squashed by the squirrel's fluffy chest, making him squeak again. "Okay-!" Tycho patted Drilltooth's chest. "You win! Get up!" Tycho noted, Drilltooth just smirked down at the tanuki. "Why? I'm rather cozy." The squirrel god commented as he got more comfortable, making sure the tanuki was snuggly pinned. "Drilltooth!" "Where do you honestly have to be?" "I'm on forced hiatus and you know it-!" Tycho barked as Drilltooth stretched out a bit. "Exactly. But if you really want me to get up. Make me a good offer." "Oh you gods damn-!" "I'm not hearing words or praise or ideas~" Drilltooth teased, the tanuki rolled his eyes. "Ugh- Okay, what do you want? "Three things; a trip to the Demon Market tomorrow, Banana Bread today, and for you to keep your work uniform off during all of it, and until you have to go back to work." Drilltooth listed with his fingers, "I like my kimonos they're comfortable!" "And so am I, so I guess we're just gonna spend a few hours here." Drilltooth teased, as Tycho threw his free paw up, in playful frustration. "All right! I'll wear a Korta coffee shirt or something else." Tycho admitted defeat, upon doing so Drilltooth returned to his usual small stature, "Was that so hard?" Drilltooth asked, getting in the tanuki's face. He just quietly, and playfully glowered at the squirrel god before hugging him tightly. "Youre so annoying." Drilltooth chuckled happily.

The air crackled with electricity, Tycho waited sword in both hands... his mind silenced from the spell he had quickly performed before the two began this practice bout. Listening for anything was meaningless, if Drilltooth snapped a twig, he'd be ten miles away from it in a blink if he so desired... Tycho had learned not to listen for the squirrel, but instead feel his suppressed divine energy. The wind rose gently blowing the grass at Tycho's feet, then he suddenly spun around, and with a sharp clang met Drilltooth's claws! He didn't even see the squirrel pass he just felt the impact of his strike on his blade travel up his arms, but he didn't get knocked back this time, he was prepared this time! Finally he started making ground on the squirrel God's training after eight years of work! He then felt it, the next strike, another loud clang, they came quick and quicker. Tycho wasn't able to block each one, only getting slightly scratched by the Squirrel's claws as he requested, but he counted each metallic clang in his head; "Four... Six... eight... ten!" Tycho began to smile, even as the scratches burned with an irritating pain, as blood soaked his golden fur and tank top, he knew he was doing better! Then something changed in the air, he quickly turned around as the teal squirrel's energy suddenly came from above! Time felt slower in that moment for the tanuki, he could see Drilltooth coming at him, slowly taking shape from a teal blob to a squirrel... not just one but hundreds of fading images leading to a solid figure coming at him with claws outstretched. He had to use both hands to hold his blade, catching the squirrel's sudden pounce from above, it used the tanuki's fat as a landing pad, pushing him back slightly uprooting grass and dirt with the heel of his boot. Drilltooth's signature tooth clanged against his blade sending sparks flying as the squirrel gripped tightly onto the sword wrestling for balance and to disarm the tanuki.

Surprisingly, I never used the term blood-curdling, I feel like I tried to, but either couldn't spell it right or just felt it was a bit much.

"You know... sometimes, I think that way, too." Tycho admitted with a defeated sigh, his face sinking into pure remorse. "There's parts of the world that suck, and I admit... sometimes I wish I could take it in my hands like you did. But-" Tycho smiled a bit, seeming to try to give a gaze of sympathy. "Hell, I'll say you did, do some good with your purge." He gestured an open palm to the bound wolf, "But, the truth of the matter is... sometimes, we highlight too much dark, and the light gets shoved into the shadows, at least... in my opinion." Tycho noted as he poured coffee from the steel kettle, Fenrir glowered as he watched the tanuki. "That makes no sense." Fenrir retorted, "Right, I probably said that in too modern of a way." Tycho exhaled laughing quietly, "What I mean is that good news often gets overshadowed by a cascade of doom and gloom." Fenrir crossed its arms as Tycho set the mug beyond the border. "I've been thinking about it- Ragnarok, that is, it was the fire that burned everything, but from the ashes something new, greater, and stronger rose up... but everyone just remembers the time before the fires died down." Tycho added as Fenrir collected the copper mug, sniffing the contents within it. "So you're saying it was a good thing?" Fenrir questioned before giving the coffee a tiny sip. "Yes, but no. I'm saying that sometimes starting from the beginning is a good thing. However, nature often decrees it as terrible, frightening, and... downright evil sometimes. I can honestly agree with both sides." Tycho elaborated, Fenrir huffed a small flame. "But which side do you believe as truth?" "Both." "You can't have both." Fenrir growled, Tycho shrugged. "Then... I'll be wishy-washy. Sometimes I'll agree with you, sometimes I'll agree with the gods." Tycho decided in the moment, Fenrir rolled his eyes. "You make no sense." Tycho laughed heartily.

Dionysus began to explain, as Tycho looked at him in horror, Dionysus let out a lugubrious groan. "We gods could do as we please with a mere thought, but we much limit ourselves so that we can enjoy the fruits of labor. But the fruits do rot, stems must be cut and separated as not taint the whole plant." Dionysus noted, then raised a single finger; "But a rotten plant's death can go a long way to fertilize the garden for a much more prosperous harvest. It's just nature's way, the way of the world. If there is no death, nothing can learn, nothing can prosper. Knowledge, failure and death is the fertilizer of humanity's growth. It's cruel to phrase it as such to the mind of someone who's young or limited in time. Yet you forget we are eternal beings, even when we die a good portion of memories are passed to our successors too. Its just the way of the world, you can accept it, or be driven to madness attempting to find an alternative that just doesn't exist." Dionysus sighed a bit defeated himself, drinking the entirety of the wine that remained in his glass in one long sip. "Painful as it is. Thats just how things flow, even beyond our control. For if it didn't, we'd lose our source of power. The praise and belief of the people, hence why we must have this War." Dionysus' cheeks began to glow, his nose turning a bit red. "In one hand we have the eternal praise of the people." He reached for the other glass tied in the vines in his hair. "In the other hand... we have a big burst of praise!" Dionysus barked flinging a bit of wine across the table.

--- Tycho looked out to the grass plains in silence, as he sat and recreated the scene on paper. It wasn't a perfect replica, but it was familiar enough to him. "You draw?" A familiar deep male voice asked over his shoulder, it was Seren the Swift. Probably looking for another challenge at first, but seemed to mellow out when he saw the sketch book in Tycho's paws. Tycho had gotten used to being snuck up on by Seren... though it still made him mess up the sketch a bit. "Yeah." He answered with a nod, as he erased the scribble caused by his reflexive jump. "It helps with my memory." Tycho added as he continued to sketch. "That... seems like an odd thing to say. You seem to have pretty strong mental control." Seren suggested, Tycho chuckled. "Thats from meditation." "Doesn't that help with memory too?" "Probably." Tycho confirmed with a nod, as he drew the horizon, Seren crossed his arms. "Do you have trouble with your memories?" Seren asked, seeming either skeptical and confused by the mere thought. "It's... a long story. It's best to leave it at: there's memories I try to blot out and bury. But memories that are emotionally charged just don't die." Tycho noted with a sigh, Seren quietly smirked as he sat next to Tycho. The two sat in silence only for five seconds when Seren spoke up; "That's why I enjoy noble and worthy fights." Seren started, Tycho seemed to focus on his sketch. "When you fight an honorable and strong person, you hear every beat of your heart. You feel every drop of sweat. Each cut, even scratches, sting even more." Seren put a paw over his shoulder. "The physical mark disappears. But the memory lasts. Because the emotions are stronger than ever. Win or Lose, you are able to pick apart pieces of that memory and build off them for a better one."

"Oh that. It's nothing, you just reminded me of an old gambling, pal I made after the War of the Second flame." The bat noted as it took its wing back. Shambling ahead of Tycho, he followed. "Nice Tanuki, bright blue eyes. Yellow fur like yours... B positive, I think?" Tycho's ear flicked at that last descriptor, "I... see. What happened to him?" Tycho asked, Camazotz shrugged. "Don't know. One day he just stopped showing up... last he told me he was having a kid with some sweet nurse woman he met during the Kori no Tatakai." Camazotz mused for a minute. "What was her name..? Lady Luck?" Tycho sharply inhaled at the mention of the name, while Camazotz shook his head. "No that was her nickname..." "Was it... Shinku?" He asked nervously, Camazotz clicked his claws together, "YES! Thank you that was going to bother me all day!" He turned to Tycho, "How did you know that?" The God asked, looking deeply into Tycho's eyes, he only stared back uncertain how to answer. "OH! It must've been you! You're their kid! Gods, wow-! I dont know how I didnt see it sooner! I'm blind as a bat, eh?!" Camazotz joked, jabbing Tycho in the chest as he laughed hysterically for a moment. Camazotz looked Tycho up and down for a minute, "My gods! You're fat! Hayato must've really let himself and his family go when the war ended! How is he by the way?" Tycho quietly just scratched the back of his neck, without even saying a word Camazotz immediately knew the answer. "O-oh... my apologies." He put a clawed wing over his heart, lowering his head respectfully. "What happened to him?" "I don't know." Tycho shook his head. "They told me he died on one last mission, never gave specific details... just brought back his tags." "And Lady Shinku?" "Birth Complications." Tycho answered, Camazotz sucked his teeth. "Oh..." Camazotz hummed reaching into the kimono tied around his neck, pulling out an ancient looking kiseru, stuffing the head with an odd red powder. "Err... got a light?"

It's a special weave I do for Kitsune and Tanuki like you, if asked for. But due to intricacies its a small price bump. However, since your a rabbit, youll be getting a slight discount." Arachne explained as she added it to her notes, "So, what will it be?" Arachne asked, Tycho bit his lower lip. "I-I don't know still. I don't know what would look good on me." He admitted, "I want something versatile... that can suit all of my fields, but-" "I got just the thing in mind!" Arachne announced to the tanuki and squirrel, to Tycho's surpirse. "Come, let's get you in a sample version, if you like it. I'll begin work and have it ready for you in two weeks." Arachne suddenly turned away from the duo, and Drilltooth gestured for Tycho to follow the spider woman. Within ten minutes Tycho stood in front of a mirror, wearing a bland kimono that fit him like a glove, he looked between the three mirrors. It was loose, comfortable, and it... just felt right. "What is this again?" Tycho asked meekly, "A nagagi kimono, it doesn't come with an overcoat or robes, those cost extra. But it does come with an obi." Arachne explained, as Tycho turned around, then looked back to the mirrors, his tail was free to drag behind him, but his didn't mind... clearly as it wagged happily. "And it won't have an intricate design?" Tycho asked, "Not unless you want one." Arachne nodded, Tycho head whipped, he couldnt hide the smile from his face. "Just the Moon Rabbit Service's logo with my role on the shoulder, that's all I want!" He requested, Arachne giggled, Drilltooth rolled his eyes. "That's box standard. But if that's really all you want. Then very well. It's a much easier job on me." Arachne held out her hand. "There's just one form of payment I require from you still." Arachne noted, Tycho perked up. "Of course!"

"So is that a no?" Stolas simply asked, Tycho shook his head. "I'm still willing to try." Tycho noted, Drilltooth mused then shrugged. "Yeah, sure could be fun." Drilltooth chimed in. "Wonderful!" Tycho and Drilltooth took opposite sides while Stolas stood in the middle at his own insistence. "Whenever you're ready. Come at me." Stolas simply told them, speaking loud enough for both of them to hear. Tycho stood his ground while Drilltooth immediately rushed in, moving as he usually would as a teal blur, Tycho watched as Stolas simply weaved to dodge the barely visiable blur, not even lifting a hand. Drilltooth quickly began speeding up, becoming more like a teal streak as Stolas dodged, or vines erupted from the ground to disrupt his movement. That's when Tycho attempted to strike going for a stab at Stolas' chest with the bamboo sword. The vine burst a new branch to block the strike, in the same moment Stolas moved to evade Drilltooth. As quickly as the vine emerged it disappeared making Tycho take a headbutt to the stomach from Drilltooth, knocking the tanuki on his tail and sending the squirrel rolling back from bouncing off the tanuki's fat unexpectedly. "Come now, boys. I know you're both better than that!" Stolas teased as if he wasn't casually predicting every move they'd make. Tycho didn't even get up, he just sent his bamboo sword to extend as quick as it could making a rock appear covering Stolas completely just as it hit the stone, the blunt blade became cloaked in fire, then returned to its natural form... a leaf now dry as can be on fire. The stones around Stolas crumbled and landed on the burning leaf, extinguishing it. "Good try." Stolas noted as he dodged another one of Drilltooth's quick strikes. Tycho got on his knees, sitting up. "Very well." The tanuki closed his eyes and began to perform the nine kanji mutra. Even with his eyes closed, Tycho could sense Drilltooth beginning to radiate more divine energy as he kept going at the owl king!

Tycho noted as he held his hand over the grill, out of curiousity, Fenrir did the same. The flames were weak at first, then the pan began to radiate a haven of warmth in this baren, deathly cold dome. It was... nice. He didn't want to admit it, but it was pleasant to feel warmth from something external in this snowy hell. After a few minutes of warming up, Tycho set the meat ontop of the grill it had been chopped more thinly then he was used to, but... like magic he could hear the distinct sound of sizzling meat, and the smell of it cooking. This stupid, fragile contraption was actually some form of modern magic the runes on the walls couldn't block or detect and snuff out. Fenrir didn't even notice the tanuki shuffling until his paw quickly came into the corner of his eye, leaving a box easily within in his reach, then quickly retracting. Fenrir picked it up, this one was much more sturdy, it felt like it was made of wood with a little fidgeting with his fingers the box slid a bit upward, he pushed it more, revealing... a red interior with things he wasn't familiar with. Everything looked... odd to him. He sniffed, he smelled meat, vegetables, bread, no honey or berries... but there was still food in the box as far as he could tell. But he wasn't sure, he never seen it in such an... odd presentation. Bread usually came in loafs as he remembered it, this bread was small, almost square. The meat would usually be served in one whole massive piece or served in a stew. But in this box, it rested in somewhat squares of the bread, with some of the vegetables... a meager portion to be spared. "Something to tide you over while the steak cooks- could take a while to get your whole steaks, I had to experiment a bit to figure out the right portion sizes for the disposable grill so it cooked all the way through. So- I figured I'd treat you!" Tycho explained, as he opened his own box like the one he gave Fenrir. "I'd ask how life was treating you. But... I can see clearly."

Like 95% of the times I used "might" it was in the sense of "it might be" kind of context. Which I know is fine. But I prefer the context of a mighty strength.

As Tycho dried off his fur, Drilltooth watched a look of guilt in his eyes. "What's wrong?" Tycho asked as he dried off his arm. "You're not in too much pain, are you?" Drilltooth asked, Tycho gave the squirrel a confused look. "I uh... scratched you a lot more than I usually do-" Tycho's ears perked up at that. "Oh!" He laughed a little. "Nah, I'm good." Tycho noted as he removed the towel from his arm, now with a small spot of blood in it. "Change must be both mental and physical. I have to get used to it anyhow." A skeptical look took over Drilltooth's face. "Why are we having these practice bouts? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good chance to stretch my legs for something other than delivering mail." Drilltooth questioned as he stretched. "But you? I thought you hated fighting?" The squirrel questioned, Tycho hummed as he took out a bundle of banana leaves, wrapping the cuts. "You don't remember?" He winced as the leaves glowed "To... be able to defend what I love. I don't plan on fighting alongside Sidra to prevent the Enlightening, but if it ever rolls into the places I call home." The banana leaf wrapping eventually began to lose its glow. "Then I need to be ready! I need to be prepared!" Tycho explained, Drilltooth snorted at that. "Gods, you sound like one of those old folks who mortals praise as heroes. They weren't actually always like they were written by the way." Drilltooth noted as he crossed his arms. "Besides, you can pretty much make anything you need from your leaves with your mind. Your concentration is what makes their weight, durability, and strength. Especially that special one." Drilltooth pointed to the one clinging tightly to his chest. "Divine Treasure doesn't break." Tycho put a hand over it. "Even so, being able to make something and knowing how to use them are two different things."

Empa basically watches over her own Demon Market in the Diyu division of hell. Her rules for her market are simple;
No Divine Contraband.
"I know it's hard to comprehend, but my market does abide by rules and standards, and I enforce mercilessly. The First; No Divine Treasures. We won't ask how you got it, where, and when. But we're not letting you sell it here. Insist and I come down... well..." She giggled, the pitch taking a more disturbing my ears now, "It may not seem merciful, but if a God catches a demon with a divine weapon or treasures, we've all heard of Prometheus in the worst-case scenario. In most others, it's a burning pain people speculate on." "And the second?" "No Divine Contraband, Things that the Gods are withholding from Humanity; Divine Ambrosia, Potions of Luck, or Things like the Tullithorne seeds, the list is much longer. But those are just three things I can name verbally because morons have brought them in recently." Her mandibles chattered, and she grinned... "Some were bold and delicious enough to insist on selling those illegal objects under the table in my market." Her laugh wasn't so pleasant this time around. "The items themselves were completely burned and destroyed, but listed. I send the inventory list to the Heavens, and they stay out of my non-existent hair."

...Sidra looked among the crops with fascinated curiousity, she'd seen crops like it, but it was an odd place for them to grow if they were what she thought they were. She kneeled down as if she was doing a frog squat, gently brushing the tall grass-like crop finding what she suspected, a bundle of rice grains. "What is it?" Bakari asked curious as he looked over Sidra's shoulder. "Rice." Sidra answered as she stood up straight. "Rice?!" Bakari looked around confused then his eyes widened. "Buh... but isn't that squash?" Sidra looked to the imp behind her confused. "Wha- Squash, where?" Bakari pointed, Sidra followed his finger and saw the tell-tale curling vine roots of squash and pumpkins. Sidra walked over careful where she stepped, and leaned over the plant. "It is squash!" Sidra confirmed as Bakari rushed over, suddenly its foot sinking into mud catching his foot. "Aah-!" He yelped, Sidra tried to catch the imp, but it was too late it fell onto the crop smashing the budding squash. "Oww..." Bakari groaned, as Sidra bent down helping the imp up. "Are you okay?" She asked, "Yeah... except my uniform is covered in mud and squash." Bakari grumbled, when a voice behind the pair chimed in. "And you just destroyed a pretty fine squash, which will cost you." Bakari and Sidra turned quickly, being met with a rather large pale gut. Their heads tilted upward till the met the brown eyes of a frog. This frog was huge, maybe 15'7'', easily over a thousand pounds, a mix of yellow and dull brownish yellow with black spots... seeming to carry an ornate smoking pipe that glistened with gold and silver. But that's not what caught Bakari's eyes. It was a shine to the frog, at first he thought it was slime, then it began to droop. "A-are... those gold coins?" Bakari asked the frog, it laughed with a boisterous chuckle. "Yes, yes, they are." The frog reached over and began plucking them off.
