anyway that was it, Temma Matsunaga my current obsession, Im so glad youtube sucks doing playlists or else I wouldnt have discovered him, thanks to my friend years ago showing me UG and gifting me his single🫡 cant wait to take the mic at the karaoke and sing his songs all night

I'm sure that most of the wordplay he does ends lost in translation but still one can get some of his sexy lovey or intricate feelings lyrics even translating them, just dont frown to stuff like "I want to sexhara you" (the song is Sexy Harajuku is a wordplay lol) and you will be ok

anyway I wont go into his UG side bc will take me longer but check him out and his work his interviews and way of thinking, Temma is such an interesting human and a wonderful and talented artist (which after writing this thread I realized im not only simping him as a man lol)

I think thats one thing I love of him, he feels authentic and real and vulnerable, growing older (and in this case being a man lol) doesnt mean you need to be "the edgy not showing feelings or I lose my cool" guy, one loses so much when we avoid ourselves to feel

one day I read an interview which he actually says something like: "I like writing about what others cannot express, specially in my age, people are afraid or embarrased to show how they feel" and yea I can agree thats on point of what I thought too of his works

personally I adore the way he expresses himself in the lyrics, main theme of his is love however I dont feel them like cutesy shy lovesongs you may find in similar genres specially in Japan, nah man he is ready to shout hes balls deep in love and not afraid to show his true feelings at all

that was when I fell deep into the rabbit hole, Temma is a multi talented artist, focused mostly behind the whole UG concept and chief songwriter, plus his solo project. Also he's an actor, novelist and poet and that totally shows on the lyrics he writes

the bassline starting the song, the funky and chill melody, the provocative lyrics and Temma walking towards the camera with such charisma...then the chorus LOVE HARASSMENT!!!! such an interesting choice of words I thought, I was sold (or infatuated?)

so I was like ok who this! then I check and was a solo song from Temma, at that moment everything clicked and realized that was the name of the guy in the UG video my friend had shown me years ago (kinda slow of me but bear in mind I never did any research of UG lol)

so this "mix" played UG back to back nonstop lmao but didnt matter as I was discovering a bunch of songs I've never listened from UG before, so between those songs one started and I literally stopped doing my work to see what I was listening to bc: one, it was so good and two it didnt sound like UG!

then FF to this year, I was at the puter and decided to put one of those playlists youtube sayin "Urbangarde and other artists mix" I was busy to choose what to listen do just played that one...well let me tell ya Youtube sucks doing mixed playlists

I found it very cool both musically and aesthetically and I remember I was glued to the guy in glasses which back then didnt know was Temma lol I just didnt do any research on the band I just thought UG was cool and rarely listened to it tbh
