I'm sure it also depends on the domain, at least in Computer Science/Software Engineering it can be useful sometimes, probably less so if you're already an expert.

It's just a tool, you have to know how to use it responsibly. It's good if you're new to a topic because it can instantly name some "unknown unknowns", even if it mischaracterises them. After that, the onus is on you to research these things and find better sources.

Unfortunately no, I don't really follow their work closely. They should add it though.

I find duckduckgo a bit more sane, although it seems like the web searchers' quality has generally deteriorated since when I was a kid.

What is crazy to me is how all forms of this are just marketed as AI to the general population. You could be using basic decision trees for your model or an LLM but to your average person both are sold as AI.

I would say this, however, sounds more like a description of logic-based AI methods which, as far as I know, have turned out to be largely unsuccessful. Machine learning, and deep learning specifically, is a completely different approach.
