But bombing a random café in Tel Aviv, some of the stuff that was done in the Second Intifada and on Oct 7, was over the line. Violence against random civilians, child soldiers, etc are problems common to the "national liberation" approach to fighting national oppression & colonialism.

Israel blurs the line between between combatant and civilian by instituting universal conscription and promoting settlement. A gun-toting settler is not a civilian.
