Upon further thought, the way I would have written it is something like this- Sydney still becomes hot and cruel, but imparts some amount of confidence to Alex as thanks for giving her the choker in the first place. The two of them, both empowered by the magic, show everyone who to respect, or else

My heart breaks to see Sydney's treatment of Alex. He deserved better. But I suppose this is a fantasy of being cruel and hurtful, so that's what happened.

I think it would be fitting for "Ella" and "Colt" to wither and waste away, their ambition destroying them in the end. A man often meets destiny on the road he takes to avoid it, you know.
