Behold, a nice little text editing widget, which lets you input special characters more quickly. Out in around 1-2 weeks (MuseScore 4.6)

MuseScore Studio 4.6. Here's a little preview of a new system we've added that lets you manually hide staves.
So glad we've finally got this change in. MSS was unfinished without it. Now, our focus will be on major big things for 5.0.

Here's exactly how we're going to do that onboarding. When you delete a clip, we show this once. (You can change again in preferences at any time btw). I should mention that these images animate, so it's super clear what each option does.

A little update on how Audacity 4 is progressing. We've just about completed all the core editing work now and I wanted to demonstrate some of the workflow improvements we've included. Let me know if you'd like more little updates like this.

As I near completion of my last notation app review, I've come to the conclusion that this dialog is the single worst thing about Finale. Basically, if you need to use audio in any other app, Finale freaks and this appears up to 7 times in one go. Unimaginably annoying.

Check our this list of engraving improvements to get an idea of quite how much stuff our engraving team do in each release. Our main release video can't even touch on 1% of them.

As I prepare slides for a talk I'm giving next week, I encountered an old friend. One of my all-time favourite examples off baffling UX jank, brought to us by the good folk at PowerPoint. It's an option for embedded video called:
"Hide during show".
Love it!
