I have a couple as well. They belong to the companies where I worked at the time & I’ve never seen a dime of the profits. I’ve made a dozen sales people fairly wealthy over the years & all I got was a modest salary & anxiety. It’s not about STOPPING patents but regulating them to foster innovation.

I see some folks missed the -for so long- part. I don’t have a problem with them making money for a handful of years, but those things should expire. IP in the arts should be similar; it would keep us from getting those Disney remakes every 5 years. Putting a stop to patent trolls helps everyone.

We haven’t hit it, though. All the manufacturers are re-hashing their old patents in order to milk every penny. If they weren’t allowed to protect those patents -for so long-, we’d have better phones. Apply that across the board to every patent, and we’d have better everything. Force innovation.

Don’t trust people in suits. You’d think guys with that much money would dress better. You’ve got a car salesman with a suspicious German accent, a used car salesman that wants your little sister’s number, and the used-car financing guy that’s suddenly very interested in your sofa?
